Laura Cañadillas Delgado is Doctor in Physics (Cum Laude, 2008. Supervisors: Prof. Catalina Ruiz-Pérez and Dr. Jorge Pasán García. “Premio extraordinario de doctorado en el área de ciencias 2009”) specialized in crystallography and magneto-structural relations. She finished her grade in Physics (2003) and obtained the DEA (Advanced Studies Certificate) (2005) in the II Fundamental Physic Department, all them at the Universidad de La Laguna. During her PhD work she has been synthesized, measured and resolved the crystal structure of an important number of metal-organic lanthanide complexes, using single crystal and powder diffraction techniques, involving X‑ray diffraction in laboratory and synchrotron equipments. Her research was principally focused in the magnetic-structure correlations in gadolinium(III) based metal-organic complexes.

In 2009 she obtained the MICINN fellowship: “Especialización en Organismos Internacionales” which was developed at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (Grenoble, France) to investigate at the BM16 beamline (Supervisor: Dra. Ana Labrador). During this period she managed several experiments in the PX station. Special relevance have those framed within the “Structure-properties relationships in Molecule-based Magnets” long term project.  At the end of 2009 she joined the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Aragón (CSIC) as instrument scientific in the SpINS group (Spanish Initiatives in Neutron Scattering) at the Institut Laue Langevin (Grenoble, France). During two years she was in charge of the neutron diffractometers for single crystal D15 and for powder samples D1B (Supervisors: Dr. Javier Campo (ICMA/CSIC) and Dr. Juan Rodriguez-Carvajal (ILL)).

Nowadays she is working at the Centro Universitario de Defensa and develops her investigation in multifunctional materials, applying her knowledge in X-rays and neutron diffraction techniques. This research work is done in a close collaboration with prestigious national and international scientific groups.
