Joaquín Mur Amada

Joaquin Mur-Amada received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees on Industrial Engineering in 1997 and 2011, respectively, from the University of Zaragoza. He has been teaching Electrical Engineering from year 2000 and he is lecturing in the Defence University Center from September 2011. He has conducted experimental studies on the characteristics of the power delivered to the grid by some wind farms in Aragon, focusing on the energy quality and the dynamic behavior of wind power. His main research line is the wind power variability and its integration of wind generation into electric grid. He has also designed, developed and assembled systems for power quality measurement in four wind farms (first prototypes of the AIRE team, currently manufactered by Inycom) and a measurement system used in the research project on co-combustion in thermal power plant in Escucha (Teruel). He has co-authored several research articles, a multimedia course for teaching of electromagnetism and several teaching books (a handbook on wind energy, two book chapters on wind energy and information technology issues for examinations). He has participated in several projects of educational innovation for the teaching of electromagnetism and the use of information technology in education. The team where he taught was awarded the teaching innovation prize of the University of Zaragoza for the project “Implantación de procedimientos activos y cooperativos de enseñanza/aprendizaje y desarrollo de recursos docentes en cursos técnicos de electromagnetismo” (see newspaper article of 10/10/2010).
